Does your kid want to learn to mountain bike but you want to ride too…what to do? Â Teach them yourself? Â Sure, that’s an option but its like learning to ski, snowboard or even golf on you own – it’s doable but your progress will be slower and arguably way less safe.
So what do you do when your child wants to learn to ride a mountain bike or improve their mountain bike skills? Â It seems too scary/dangerous/difficult right? Well, as with any other sport, the best advice is to turn to a Professional Coach.
My Family Mountain Bike Lessons are great for small private groups consisting of up to three adults and four kids. Â The base price includes one adult and one child riding together with the option to add a combination of adults and kids.
I am very experienced with coaching child and youth mountain bikers & helping them to progress their mountain bike skills in a safe & repeatable way. Â I am an ICP Level 3 Certified Mountain Bike Coach (the highest offered) and I am Wilderness First Responder Certified.
I know that as a parent your time and resources can be limited so I offer great value Private Kids Mountain Bike Coaching Sessions so your child or youth mountain biker (age 6 to 12) can improve their riding quickly.
I offer discount for repeat custom.
If you have more than one child and no adults are riding, take advantage of my Kids Group Mountain Bike Coaching which offers the same great coaching at a lower hourly rate for groups of 2 to 6 youth mountain bikers.

We booked a group lesson with Ronnie because we were looking to experience some Tahoe trails as a family and see if we could all ride a bit better....especially me & my wife! Ronnie was super patient with all of us and walked us through some basics before we hit the trails. We never felt out of our depth on anything we were riding and our children had a wonderful day showing us just how much we have to learn. The fact that it was just our family made the day feel much more exclusive and personal. If you are in Lake Tahoe and are looking to go mountain biking you should definitely consider adding Ronnie to your list of potential teachers.
My son (6) and I (36) had a great lesson with Ronnie. I've been trying to get into mountain biking for some time and my son is now at the age that he will blow past me on the trails if I don't hone in some of the necessary fundamentals. I can't say this enough, Ronnie is a great coach. He doesn't let you get lazy in your riding and continuously reminds you of the safety practices. Definitely recommend Ronnie for any sort of lessons but feel that private family lessons are the best as you get great information/skills to then enjoy on a family ride together. We look forward to future lessons/riding with Ronnie.
My son and I recently had a private lesson with Ronnie over the weekend. Ronnie is an excellent MTB coach! Not only is Ronnie extremely knowledgeable, but he was able to connect with my son using examples he could relate to. I thought this was really unique. You get the sense right away that Ronnie is really passionate about teaching you the right fundamentals so your progression is safe and well founded. We did a 3 hour session with Ronnie and he kept the session engaging with great energy along with some really cheesy jokes that kept a smile on our faces. We can’t recommend Ronnie enough, he is a top notch MTB coach!
