Kids Summer MTB Camps in Lake Tahoe
Get the kids off their phones and outside with our Summer Mountain Bike Camps 2024
We are running two Lake Tahoe summer camps this year, one in Tahoe (Truckee area) (Tahoe Trail Thrashers) and one in Reno (Reno Rocket Riders). Each week long camp has been designed to teach beginner to intermediate mountain biking skills. Riders will be introduced to proper bike setup, riding in a group, cornering, shifting gears and braking. They will also learn basic trail skills such as how to get up and down the trail safely, how to control their bikes on different terrain and obstacles they will encounter while riding the trails.
Our kids summer MTB camps are a FIVE DAY fundamentals course (10am-4pm) covering all the basics needed to shred your bike. We will be playing games and doing drills you can practice at home.
Each camp, your little shredder will receive professional coaching, life skills, meet new friends, learn how to work on the bike and how to handle hard trail situations with multiple options. At the end of camp each participant will receive a shredders diploma, gifts, goodies and the joy of experiencing the great outdoors as they should be. I stand by my camps and I know your child will learn and enjoy themselves at the same time. Let’s get it.
These camps are a great introduction to mountain biking as well as a great way to get your kids off their screens and outside this summer!
Participants (riders) must be able to ride standing up for 300+ feet and be able to ride uphill. We do not “teach kids how to ride a bike”, we develop mountain bike skills in kids and adults who can already ride a bike.
Please register for the session you would like to attend. Each session has a 5 rider minimum and an 8 rider maximum. All sessions are led by an ICP Level 3 Mountain Bike Coach.
Registration closes two weeks before camp.
We need to have 5 riders participating to host each RAD CAMP. Why not get a group of friends together and get sendy with us? 50% deposit secures your spot!
Dependent Care FSA receipts are available on request for these camps.
Please note that we do not provide bikes or equipment.
Ronnie put together a great customized camp for under 12's. Almost all mountain bike camps are over 12, so we decided to work with Ronnie to set up a private session. 6 kids signed up and had an amazing time honing their mountain bike skills and have a great time. Lots of fun in nature, great rides and being able to hang with their buddies, make new buddies and support each other on the trails! My daughter LOVED every minute of it!
We completed a week with the Tahoe Trail Thrashers for 6-12 yo. What a week! Our son (8) had a blast with Ronnie and all the kids. Even with varying skill levels in the group, Ronnie was able to provide focused coaching - our sons improvement with his biking skills and overall riding in just 1 week was amazing! Can't wait for next summer!
My kids absolutely loved this camp. Ronnie did a great job coaching them up and they learned a ton on a handful of trails around Truckee.
